Merrilyn Jensen McBride

Merrilyn Jensen McBride, age 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on August 19, 2015.
Merrilyn was born May 26, 1945 to Merrill and Marie Jensen in Brigham City, Utah. Growing up in a military family, she lived in many places including Tennessee, New York, Ohio and Okinawa. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education. While at BYU she met her eternal companion, James David McBride. They were married July 10, 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple and recently celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary. Soon after their marriage, Merrilyn and Jim established their home in North Salt Lake, Utah where they raised their children and lived for the last 38 years. "Gammy" was adored by all her grandchildren. Her life was filled with service in ward and stake auxiliaries in the LDS church.
She is survived by her husband James; their four children, Michael (Tawnya), David (Brandi), Ryan (Amberlee), and Kathlyn; her mother, Marie Jensen; sisters LeAnna (Doug Julander) and Julie (Brian Carlson); and brothers Richard Jensen (Patsy) and Mark Jensen; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Merrill Jensen.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orchard Tenth Ward chapel (3317 S 800 W Bountiful, Utah). A viewing will be held Monday, August 24 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers mortuary (295 N Main St. Bountiful, UT) and Tuesday 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. before the funeral. Interment at Alpine City Cemetery.
