Mervin Walter Frandsen, 79 of Centerville passed away quietly on Mar. 31, 2016 at this home.  Born in Roosevelt, Utah Mar. 27, 1937 to Walter and Jennie Halverson Frandsen, the oldest of two children.

 

Merv was sealed to Julie Hansen of Lakeshore, UT. August 10, 1962.  He was an active member of the LDS Church and a beloved Scout Master for many years.  He graduated from South High and attended the University of Utah.  He served his county for four years in the Air Force and retired from Hill AFBase after 42 years of devoted service.  He had a great passion for guns and gun rights as well as the flag and the freedoms we enjoy.  He was an avid reader and a fountain of knowledge.  He had a true common sense approach to life and had a great insight about many things.

 

Merv is survived by his sons; Michael (Dawn) of Provo, Paul of Kaysville; Brian (Teresa) of Kaysville; 13 grandchildren; sister, Vicky Downs (David) of Salt Lake; Brothers in Law Mark Hansen, San Diego, Calif.; Wendell Hansen (Marva) of Lakeshore also many nieces and nephews.  Proceeded in death by his wife and parents. 

 

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday April 7, 2016 at the Centerville 9th Ward, 50 East 1475 North, Centerville, UT. at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.  Family and friends may call on Wednesday April 6, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main in Bountiful. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.  Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com.
