Michael Palmer

September 16, 1987 — August 30, 2014

Biography

Michael Palmer was called home into the loving arms of his Father in Heaven on August 30, 2014. He suffered complications at Davis Hospital, while being treated for pancreatitis, which is painful but not life-threatening.
Michael was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Randy and Cindy Palmer. He was the youngest child with three older sisters, Cristy Shields, Jamie Palmer-Ormsby, Kelli Stephens and one older brother, Jeffery Palmer, who preceded him in death. From the day he was born Michael was a fighter. He was born with a rare disorder called CHARGE syndrome. He survived multiple surgeries throughout his life, always with a twinkle in his eye.
His mom, Cindy, was Michael’s first love and his fierce and loyal protector. In return, he protected her with gentle reminders, such as, wearing her seat belt and eating her dinner.
His dad, Randy, understood Michael better than anyone and enjoyed his quirks. They had a bond that was not of this world, defined by complete acceptance, true appreciation and unconditional love.
Michael was a teacher to those who knew him and a hero to those who loved him. He took a genuine interest in learning about others and had an innate ability to remember details of their lives. He was a friend to everyone and had a smile that lit up a room. He would give you the shirt off his back and often did. Michael had an innocent tenacity which allowed him to speak his mind, when others might not have dared.
He adored his dog Buddy. Friends will miss seeing them roam the neighborhood together. He was also passionate about, collecting “lost dog” posters, fishing, hunting, camping, taking baths, volunteering with animal control (whether they liked it or not), Facebooking friends and making people laugh. WhenMichael was excited about his job he was a very hard worker.
Family was more important to Michael than anything else. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a nephew and a friend and will be forever missed.
