Mike Paul Pierce, age 57, devoted husband, father, brother, and friend left this world way too soon on October 6, 2010. Mike was born January 4, 1953 in La Puente, California in a taxi cab to James Wilson and Ruby Raycene Clay Pierce. He lived his young life in La Puente. As a teenager, he lived with his grandparents, Bill and Hazel Doyle, in Grants Pass, Oregon, where he graduated from high school. He moved to Bountiful, Utah where he met and married Anita Benson on April 23, 1994. They were later sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple on November 22, 2008. They moved to St. George and later returned to Bountiful. Mike loved to be with his family. He liked hiking and camping. One of his favorite places to hike was at Jessies Twist outside of Hanksville, South Eastern Utah, where he enjoyed studying dinosaur bones. He loved to read and learn all he could. He liked sports and he played football on a club team. He was a vegetarian, a weight lifter, and he played the guitar. Some of the jobs he had were an over the road truck driver, selling electronics equipment, and he was a UTA bus driver until he retired due to cancer. Mike is survived by his wife, Anita; his daughters, Elizabeth Asheley, Katherine Raycene; his son, Mike William, daughters, Jessica, Adrienne Borca and her husband, Marius Borca; brother, Garland Wilson; sister, Lucinda Miller, and mother-in-law, Gwenath Benson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Bountiful 28th Ward Chapel, 2285 S. 200 W. Friends and family may visit from 9:30 10:45 am prior to services at the church. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
