Micheal Lavier Mills

Michael Lavier Mills was born on August 14, 1940 in Joseph, Utah to Richard Laviar Mills and Ruth Schofield. He passed away unexpectedly in his Centerville home this past Tuesday. He married Lynette Acheson on April 15, 1976 in the Salt Lake City Temple. He graduated from Long Beach Poly High School before he served in the US Navy. Following his military service, Mike served an LDS mission in New England. Mike graduated from BYU with a degree in education. He taught elementary school in Davis County for 40 years. Mike touched many lives during those years and loved all of his students. He also loved the boys he taught and served in the young men and Scouting programs. The greatest gift in this life was his family. He is survived by his wife: Lynette Mills; 2 daughters: Shannon Moffit (Steven), Mandy Palmer (Nathan); Son: Lap Nguyen (Tran); 13 grandchildren; Sisters: Shannon Mills, Rhonda Lee (Michael); Brother: Dennis Mills (Terry).
A viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main Street, Bountiful, from 6-8 pm Friday, May 25th.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Centerville 6th Ward building, 900 S 400 E, Centerville with a viewing prior to the services 9-10 am.
