Morris Jones passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016.  He was born February 24, 1926 in North Platte, Nebraska to Robert Floyd Jones and Vivian Olive Beauchamp.  Morris was the oldest of four children.  He graduated from North Platte High School and the University of Nebraska in Electrical Engineering.  He married Henrietta Salisbury, from Martin, Kentucky, on July 19, 1950 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Morris learned to fly while in high school and flew solo at age 16.  He enjoyed flying throughout his life and after working as a vacuum tube product engineer with Sylvania Electric and Eimac, he had an avionics radio shop at the Salt Lake and Ogden airports.  Hobbies included remote controlled airplanes and Ham Radio.

In 1989 he served a mission with his wife for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in Boise, Idaho.

He is survived by his children, Morris Jr., (Teri), Saratoga, California, Robert (Cindy), Mesa, Arizona and Patty (Dan) Bird, Syracuse, Utah, 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta, in 2012, his parents and all of his brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Ward Canyon Ward, 540 North 1200 East, Bountiful, Utah.  A viewing will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah and prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.  Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com.
