Murray Douglas Ford, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away March 17, 2018 in Bountiful, Utah.
Murray had an amazing career in Law Enforcement and Security serving with the Calgary City Police in Calgary, Alberta; as Chief of Police, Rexburg, Idaho; Security Director for the LDS church and later Northwest Pipeline (Williams Co.), Salt Lake City, Utah living in Park City, Utah and Salt Lake City, Utah then retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada. He was loved, respected, and admired by all who worked with him. He also served with the Royal Canadian Air Force Reserve as Captain.
Murray was born October 30, 1938 to Hazel and Ernest Ford in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. He married his High School sweetheart, Georgina Rae Parsons on August 31, 1957 and sealed in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They spent the next 61 years together devoted to their precious family.
He is survived by his wife, Georgina; four children: Douglas (Martha) Ford, Garth Ford, Heather (Jeff) Simonsen and Barbara (Spencer) Simonsen; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Ronald and Ivan and 1 sister, Donna.
Murray loved the Lord and faithfully served in many ward and stake positions with his favorite being family history.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Somerset Chapel, 1885 Summerwood Drive, Farmington. Viewings will be held on Friday March 23, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main St. in Farmington and Saturday, March 24 from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church prior to services.
