Myrl Packham Pond

November 26, 1925 — February 16, 2015

Myrl Packham Pond returned to her Heavenly Father and was reunited with her eternal companion, Maxwell Kay Pond, on February 16, 2015.
Born on November 26, 1925 to William John and Luella Hickenlooper Packham, Myrl was the tenth of twelve children and the youngest daughter.  She grew up on the family farm in Manard, Camas County, Idaho, and later graduated from Camas County High School in Fairfield, Idaho and nurse training school at St Luke's Hospital as an Army Cadet Graduate Nurse.  She married her childhood sweetheart Maxwell Kay Pond on November 13, 1946 in the Idaho Falls temple.  The couple later moved their family to Bountiful in the 1960s, where she lived until her passing.
Myrl loved serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an unwavering example of faith and selfless service.  Early in Myrl and Kay's marriage, the newlyweds served together in the Canada mission in 1948.  Years later, the two served together again in the Michigan Detroit mission from 1991 to 1993.  Myrl and Kay loved the temple and served together for many years in both the Salt Lake and Bountiful temples. They particularly loved their time as shift coordinators at the Bountiful temple, enjoying a special bond with those who served with them.
Myrl is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, three sisters, a granddaughter and two great grandchildren.  She is survived by brothers Don Packham, Nolan Packham, Willis Packham, her sisters Emily Packham Williams, and Geneva Packham Eskridge, her nine children Deamileen & William Salisbury, Gilbert & Deanna Pond, Lucile & Kevin Lewis, Jean & Grant North, Janet & Dan Dabney, Ralph & Annette Pond, Carl & Cindy Pond, Terry & Russell Figgins, & Max & Rebecca Pond, 45 grandchildren, and 116 great grandchildren.
