Myrna Edith Weber Bradley, age 94, passed away in her home on May 4th, 2024. She was born on April 14th, 1930, in Freedom, Star Valley, Wyoming, to Charles Samuel and Johanna Bollig Weber. Myrna's journey began amidst the serene landscapes of Star Valley, where she enjoyed working out in the fields and has spoken many times of the lessons of life that she learned while milking the cows and riding horses with her father. Myrna had a beautiful soprano voice and shared it with people throughout the Star Valley. She also participated in the high school band, where she played clarinet.
After completing her high school, Myrna embarked on a path of service and higher education. Following the aftermath of World War II, she answered the call to serve a mission in West Germany from 1951 to 1953, an experience that fortified her spirit and instilled in her a profound sense of resilience. Upon her return, she pursued her passion for teaching, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Rick's College in 1956. Myrna's teaching career spanned an impressive 36 years, during which she touched countless lives with her wisdom, kindness, and dedication. Her mastery in the classroom earned her recognition in the "Educator's Hall of Fame" and "Distinguished Service in Education" by the Utah State Legislature. Even after her retirement in 1993, Myrna remained a cherished figure in the community, warmly greeted by former students whose lives she had profoundly influenced.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Myrna was deeply committed to her faith and her community. As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served diligently in various capacities, finding particular joy in leading music in Primary, directing and singing in the Ward Choir and serving as Relief Society President. Her unwavering faith and devotion were evident in every aspect of her life, from her service at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City to her 12-year tenure as an Ordinance Worker at the Bountiful Temple.
Myrna's adventurous spirit extended beyond the confines of her community, as she explored the wonders of the world from the Holy Land to the Amazon, enriching her life with diverse cultures and experiences. Yet, amidst her travels and accomplishments, Myrna's greatest joy was her family. Myrna married William D. Bradley on August 14, 1959, and they raised four children, JoAnna Holmgren (spouse: Val), Judy Richardson (spouse: David), Trudy Cook (spouse: Brad), and William "Bill" Bradley. Her legacy lives on through her 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and frequently gathered friends and family for joyous reunions, creating cherished moments of connection and love. Myrna welcomed all with open arms.
