Myrta (McPeak) Crosswhite
1917-2012
Myrta Crosswhite passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2012. She was 95.
She was born in Salida, Colorado on June 10, 1917, the fourth child of William Clyde McPeak and Florence Elizabeth Gordon McPeak. She grew up with three brothers and one sister on a farm in Missouri. After graduating from Walker High School in Walker, Missouri, she traveled west with her older brothers to make her livelihood in southern California. There she met Ralph Crosswhite, also a graduate of Walker High School, and they married in 1937. Together they raised their family of five children in Fullerton, California, where they lived until 2005. In recent years they lived in Centerville, Utah, near their daughter Marilyn Tornavacca and her family.
Myrta is survived by her husband Ralph Crosswhite and their five children: Ken Crosswhite of Spokane, Washington; Carol Newlin of Seattle, Washington; Marilyn Tornavacca of Centerville, Utah; Elaine Emery of Kensington, California; and Clyde Crosswhite of Berkeley, California.
