Our beloved mother and grandmother, Myrtle Belle Dowell, age 88, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022. Myrtle was born September 15, 1933, to Lillard McKinley Sadler and Belle Emma Camomile in Salt Lake City, UT. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Susie Justice (husband Kenneth F. Justice), Sally Ann Taylor and Kathleen Sue Oppermann (husband Kevin Dale Oppermann), her 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Myrtle kept her family very close to her heart and was even able to meet and hold her 2 great-great grandsons of whom she loved very much. She often spoke of how proud she was of her family and looked forward to spending time with them. She organized family dinners, and everyone looked forward to them as she was an outstanding cook.
Myrtle was known for her outspokenness, she said what was on her mind regardless of what anyone else thought. She knew what she wanted, how she wanted it done and was determined to get it no matter what it took. Most of us saw it as stubbornness but she saw it as determination. She loved to work in her yard, planting flowers and different plants. Her yard was always colorful with the different varieties of greenery she would pick out.
Grandmother
“God looked around his garden
and found an empty space
Then he looked down upon this earth
and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest
God’s garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best”
