Myrtle Dahle Lyon, 85, died peacefully in her sleep, Friday morning November 4, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born February 2, 1920 in Clarkston, Utah, the daughter of Joseph Norman and Rhoda Griffin Dahle, the fifth of seven children. Myrtle was raised and educated in Cache Valley where she said ?the air was clean, the work hard, and the love flourished.? After she graduated from North Cache High School she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she worked at the Glade Candy Company, the Federal Reserve Bank and later for First Security Bank. She married George Hiram Lyon of Laramie, Wyoming on October 31, 1944. Together they had three sons: Joseph, David and Edward. She loved raising her boys in Bountiful and cherished the many friends she made there. Myrtle was an active member of the LDS church and loved the gospel. She devoted much of her time to genealogy and temple work. Myrtle is survived by: Joe and Nancy Lyon, Bountiful; and David Lyon, Layton; seven grand children and three great grandsons whom she adored; and her sister Margene Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, her infant son Edward, and her siblings: Reed Dahle, Laura Moore, Carl Dahle, Ruth Mangum and Martha Zink. The family would like to thank hospice nurse Carolyn Taylor, aides Holly and Stacie Bent, and the staff of The Inn on Barton Creek for the wonderful and attentive care they provided Myrtle. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orchard 2nd Ward Chapel, 3707 South 800 West, Bountiful. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and from 10:00 to 10:45 AM preceding funeral services.
