Nadine Thompson Mueller 1920-2011

Nadine Thompson Mueller passed away on Sunday, June 12, in Bountiful, Utah. She was born 23 December 1920 in Parker, Idaho to William Raleigh and Leah Chadwick Thompson, the third child of six children. Nadine grew up in the Parker/St. Anthony, Idaho area and then in West Yellowstone, Montana. After receiving secondary education in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, Nadine attended nursing school in Salt Lake City and ultimately graduated with her RN degree from Montana State University in 1944. Nadines nursing career eventually led to Great Falls, Montana, where she was a surgical assistant and office manager for Dr. Alexander Johnson, a neurosurgeon, for over 23 years. Nadine married first O. Lee Howk in 1945 (divorced), Joseph Lathrop Mack in 1953 (divorced), and Ervin Edward Mueller on 7 April 1972, in Great Falls, Montana. Their union was sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland California Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She retired from nursing in 1986 from Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in Oceanside, California. She was a convert to the LDS Church and her volunteer activities and a mission call first to Haiti, and then to the Washington DC North Mission exemplified Nadines desire to serve others. She was also a devoted temple worker for several years in the San Diego Temple and later in the Bountiful Temple. Nadine is survived by two daughters, Sidney (William) Price, of North Salt Lake, Utah, and Roberta Bobbie (Thomas) Zipperian of Edgewood, New Mexico, and one son Bruce (Vi) Packer of Clearlake, California; six grandchildren: Trent (Rachel) Price, Stacy (Scott) Burton, Rhonda (William) Nerenberg, Megan Zipperian, Abigail (Benjamin) Wiltbank, Heidi Zipperian; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Bonnie (Fred) Porter of Salmon, Idaho and Helyn Nelson of Puyallup, Washington, and many nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ervin E. Mueller, her parents, brother W. Russell Thompson, and sisters, Blendena Swensen, and Norma Morton. The family wishes to express great gratitude to Dr. Nedda Hendler, Alpine Hospice and Heritage Place in Bountiful for their loving care of Mom in her final days. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the LDS Church Missionary Fund. Funeral services will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m prior to the service.
