On May 12, 2022, at the age of 91 our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother Nadine Fry Spencer boarded the train one last time with her sweetheart Clyde Spencer to begin her heavenly journey home. Although our hearts are broken, we are overjoyed to know that they are reunited just in time for their 75th wedding anniversary on May 27th after a 15-year separation.
A legacy, that began all those years ago in a cherry orchard, leaves behind 4 daughters: Cheryl (George) Young, Janette (David) Sprankle, Ina Denice Shultz and Clydene (Dennis) Forbush, 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way that grandma will get to kiss and hug and send on his way. The daughter of Thomas Loyal Fry and Hattie Ina Heiner she spent her childhood in Morgan and then settled In Kaysville with her sweetheart. While raising their girls they started a business in Kaysville where many locals enjoyed good conversation and a chuckle at their family-owned Spencer’s Crossroads Cafe and Lounge.
Many friends and grandkids were overjoyed to receive her homemade sewing and painting crafts. Sunday afternoons were spent listening to her stories and belly laughing until we cried. She was always happiest with a baby in her arms and a golf game on TV. She loved puzzles and always had one halfway put together. Every fall was spent in anticipation of the annual Pumpkin Party in which she was always the center of attention surrounded by all 5 generations. Her love and irreverent sense of humor will be missed! Words cannot express the love and admiration we have for this spunky force of nature. Nadine is proceeded in death by her parents as well as her siblings Loyal Wayne (Elma) Fry, Keith Heiner (Norine) Fry, Thomas D. (Margie) Fry and DiAnne Fry Campbell. She is survived by her sister Susan Fry Shifflett and brother-in-law Glen Campbell.
