Nancy Jane Grace Dye, 74, died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 11, 2014. Born April 1, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John D. and Retha Grace. Nancy married Gary Wilson in 1958. From this marriage came her three sons, Scott, Mark, and Bryon who were the center of her life. Later divorced. As a single mom, life was not easy, but Nancy worked hard at multiple jobs and scrimped and saved to give her sons a wonderful childhood.
In 1975, Nancy found the love of her life and married Danny W. Dye. For almost 40 years Nancy and Danny were true partners in life and always in love. In 1981 she and Danny moved to Burbank, Washington and lived there for over 25 years. Nancy retired after more than 35 years working for Albertsons in the bakery as a front end supervisor and cake decorator. Nancy and Danny returned to Utah 5 years ago to be near family. She was thrilled to be back in Utah for the marriage of her son Bryon and the births of 4 great grandchildren.
Nancy loved a good yard sale, a game of cards, shopping for anything, her numerous pets, a clean house, a great family party, the Utah Jazz, and spoiling everyone she loved.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Dye, two sons, Scott (Jeanine) Wilson of Bountiful and Bryon (Gayane) Wilson of Salt Lake City; stepchildren Frank (Felicity) Dye of Medical Lake, Washington and Deanna Dye of Medina, Ohio); five grandchildren Jessica (Kyle) Heck, Corianne (Cody) Kourbelas, BenWilson, Monica Higgins and Gwyneth Higgins; four great-grandchildren; brother John (Sheryl) Grace, and sister Mary Ann (Bob) Miller. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Retha Grace, and her son, Mark Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful, Utah on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 am. Family and friends may attend an informal reception one hour prior to the service. An open house will follow the memorial at the home of Scott & Jeanine Wilson.
Nancy was never without a pet by her side. In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to donate to your favorite animal charity.
Mom, it feels like it was just a few days ago when we were all together laughing and enjoying each others company. Other times it feels like an eternity since we last saw your smiling face and got to say I love you. We will think of you every day and miss you more than you will ever know. You were the best mom ever. We know you are in Heaven now watching over us. Know that you will never be forgotten. We will always love and cherish your memory.
