After a heroic seven-year battle with metastatic breast cancer, Natalia Green passed away on November 29, 2023, at 39 years old. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Carlos and Lupe Merino. Natalia is survived by her parents as well as her husband, William Daniel (Danny) Green, and their two beautiful children, Rosy and Iggy. Natalia is also survived by her siblings and their spouses (siblings listed first): Jeff and Diana Merino, Carla and Todd Brower, and Carlos and Rachel Merino. Cancer has not been kind to the Merinos—Natalia is also predeceased by her brother Mario Merino, who passed away from cancer in 2012.
Natalia grew up mostly in West Valley City, Utah, where she got into an appropriate amount of mischief with her siblings, cousins, and friends. She graduated from Granger High School, and soon after she married Danny in a planned elopement in Jamaica in 2004. The two were married for 19 wonderful years.
Natalia was extremely smart. She earned her Master of Public Administration from the only university in Arizona that matters, Arizona State University, where she graduated with honors, including being an Outstanding Graduate Finalist in her class. After her cancer diagnosis in 2017, she put her smarts to use as a producer on the podcast Our MBC Life, where she interviewed folks ranging from cancer patients to clinical research doctors on metastatic breast cancer topics.
Natalia was also wonderfully artistic. She leaves behind a home with walls that include some of her acrylic paintings on canvas as well as other works she’s created over the years. She loved to express herself through art and she was very talented at doing so.
Lastly, Natalia was the most incredible mother and spouse. She often spoke about her dreams for Rosy’s and Iggy’s future and she sacrificed as much as she could to make sure her family had a loving and fun family and home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2nd at Russon Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St., Farmington, Utah. Visiting hours begin at 9am with services beginning at 10am.
