NEDRA TODD MOHLMAN 1923-2011
Nedra Todd Mohlman, 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Bountiful, Utah on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. She was born August 7, 1923 in Roosevelt, Utah, the fourth of eleven children born to W. Russel and Fannie Gagon Todd. Nedra spent her early life on the Todd Farm in Ballard, Utah. She went to school at Ballard Elementary and graduated from Alterra High School. After her graduation she met her future husband, Farrell Jay Mohlman, who later served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On a 30 day leave from his assignment in Panama, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 11, 1944. Farrell returned to Panama while Nedra remained in Salt Lake City until August, 1945 when she was permitted to join him. Upon returning to the United States after the war, they moved to Boise, Idaho where their daughter, Nancy Ann, was born. Nedra and Farrell eventually moved to Altamont, Utah and then to Bountiful where Farrell taught school and eventually became a school administrator. They had three sons during this time. They lived in Bountiful for the remainder of their lives. Nedra worked for Bountiful City for 17 years and was a member of the Soroptomist Club and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was always active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Primary President, counselor in the Stake Primary, a member of the Relief Society Presidency and many teaching assignments. She served for many years as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples. She and Farrell also served a mission together to the Dallas Temple. Nedra loved to travel and visited many places in the United States and other parts of the world. At the age of 85 she returned for a wonderful visit to Panama. Nedra is survived by her son-in-law Jack Sherwood of St. George (who married Nancy Ann Mohlman), her three sons Frank Todd of Tooele (who married Lucille Hoehne), F Kenton [Kent] of Murray (who married Susan Whiting) and Jay Russel of Bountiful (who married Debbie Bennett), 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three siblings Keith Todd, Howard Todd and Joanne Todd McKenna. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Farrell, daughter Nancy Ann Sherwood, great-grandson Caleb Mark Nielsen, brother Max Todd, sister Norma Johnson, and five other siblings who had passed away as children. Nedra was a loving, caring, giving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, always ready to feed you if you visited and graciously give you whatever she had. She will be deeply missed but we rejoice that she is reunited with her loving husband and daughter. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Memorial services will be on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bountiful Thirty-first Ward Chapel, 585 East Center, Bountiful, Utah with a viewing at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery. The family extends special thanks to her caregivers Peggy and Vika from ResCare and all of the wonderful people from Inspiration Hospice, especially Alice and Elmer. They all are truly angels on earth.
