Nedra Evelyn Neilson passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday November 3, 2009 due to incidents of old age. We held her hands as she passed from this life into paradise to be with her eternal sweetheart who we know came for her when she was ready. She was born September 3, 1917 to goodly parents, John Wells Kundsen and Flossie Conley Knudsen in Portage, Box Elder Co, Utah. She married her sweetheart David Rex Neilson in Long Beach, CA on Friday, August 13, 1946. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake temple. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ken and Jack, and is survived by her sister Joan Gibbs John and 27 nieces and nephews. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in all of the auxiliaries and especially enjoyed the calling as Relief Society President and Stake MIA President. She loved the youth and enjoyed being with them in her home. She served with her sweetheart David, in the Sydney, Australia temple 1989 to 1991. She and David served in the Salt Lake temple for 25 years where she loved both the sisters she served and with whom she served. She became known as the candy lady for her delicious homemade candy and the generous contributions to those who visited her home. She also enjoyed her service in the Soroptimist Club of Bountiful. She was employed by Safeway for 28 years, working in their corporate office in Salt Lake City. She worked hard and sacrificed to put her husband through college at the University of Utah.
