Neil Westley Colby was born May 6, 1926 in Delta, Utah and passed away peacefully at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah on July 17, 2017.  Neil was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and friends.  He was both a gentleman and a gentle man who took care of everyone around him.

Neil attended LDS Business College where he studied accounting and met his best friend and the love of his life, Janiel Hutchings.  Neil and Janiel were married December 3, 1954 in the St. George Temple.  Together they raised 3 wonderful children.  Neil is very proud of his family and devoted his life to serving them.  He and Janiel worked to create many happy memories including camping and boating adventures.  They hauled their boat from Bear Lake to Lake Powell to make life fun for their family.

Neil retired from Chevron Oil in 1990 after a 32 year career.  He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who served faithfully in many callings most notably 20 years as the ward financial clerk where he saved no less than 3 bishops from “horrific audits”.
