Niles Stahle

Biography

Leslie Niles Stahle Sr.
Passed away October 13, 2013 of a heart attack at the age of 74. He was born December 10, 1938 to John Stahle Jr. and Lucille Stahle. He married his sweetheart Claudene Morrow Whetman on February 13, 1992 in Layton Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Bountiful Temple on February 13 2013.
Niles life was one of service not only to his family, but his community and country. Niles became a certified barber Then Niles served in the National Guard for 8 years. He started his Law Enforcement career in 1959 working for Bountiful Police until he established the Woods Cross Police Department on March 5, 196o. He used his own car with a portable red light and the police department was run out of his home until the Woods Cross City Hall was built. Dad worked 48 years in Law Enforcement. The last 15 years were with Davis County Sheriff’s Office from 1/4/1990 to 11/30/2005. Niles also loved working with the South Davis Fire District. He ran the ambulance billing service out of his home for a number of years. Niles retired as an Assistant Fire Chief from the South Davis Fire District. One of Dad’s many loves was working with youth in the Bountiful J.C. football and little league baseball. His other love was his farm and his horses. He spent many hours loving riding his horses and he also loved the Denver Broncos.
Niles is survived by his wife Claudene, children Brenda (Mark) Jones, Julie (Brent) White, Leslie (Elise) Stahle, Brain (Chelsey) Stahle, Jennifer (Robert) Zuspan. Step Children, Lisa (Delray) Perkins, Scot Lee (Jennifer) Whetman, Stephanie (Scott) Olsen, 32 ½ grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Niles is also survived by his siblings J. Howard Stahle, Dean S Stahle, Merna S Johnson, P. Larry Stahle, R. Gail Stahle. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Lois Francine Stahle and Grandson Tyler Niles Shemenski.

The funeral will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Woods Cross 10th Ward building 1335 W 1500 S, Woods Cross, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 17 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary and at the church house one hour prior to the services.
