Norine Vandenberg Francis

February 1, 1936 — August 7, 2017

With a grace and dignity that were the hallmarks of her earthly sojourn, Norine Vandenberg Francis slipped peacefully beyond the veil of mortality during her sleep on August 7, 2017. Norine has gone into the eternities to join her parents, John Henry Vandenberg and Ariena Stok Vandenberg, who preceded her in death, as well as her second son Tagg Edwin Francis, who died shortly after birth. Norine is survived by her sister Lenore Vandenberg Mendenhall, her loving husband Jack, and her children Anthony, Andrew, Mathew, Casey, Cody and Brandi.

Norine leaves behind a legacy of faith in her Savior Jesus Christ, absolute devotion to her callings as a wife and mother, and a miraculous ability to see the good and divine in everyone she encountered. She will be remembered by all for her ability to make any house a loving home, and to leave a refined beauty on everyone and everything she touched.

Born in Ogden, Utah, on February 1, 1936, Norine moved to Denver, Colorado with her family when she was five, and remained there until graduating high school. Upon graduating, she returned to Utah for college at BYU in Provo where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Merchandising.  It was there she met and married, for time and all eternity, the love of her life, Floyd John “Jack” Francis.  Married life took them to a variety of places over the years, making treasured friends in each place they called home, including Alberta Canada, Utah, Virginia, North Carolina, and ultimately Hawaii, where Norine spent the last joyful decade of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Bountiful 34th Ward, 540 N. 1200 E., where a viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment – Lakeview Cemetery.
