Norma Lorraine Keeler, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on January 2, 2017, in Bountiful, Utah, at the age of 78. She was born July 6, 1938, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Donald and Fredda Kenney. Norma’s vibrant, happy personality was a light to her family and to all who knew her. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ with all her heart and strived to live like the Savior. With an intelligent mind and a gift for teaching, she graduated from the University of Alberta, in Calgary, and taught in elementary school. She married her sweetheart, Karl Fairbanks Keeler, on September 12, 1961 in the Cardston Alberta temple. Norma focused her time, efforts, and love on Karl and their children. She cheered enthusiastically for her children at countless soccer, hockey, basketball, and volleyball games, numerous gymnastic meets, and a plethora of other events. She livened her home with bright music on the piano, entertaining games, enchanting books, and gorgeous puzzles. She served two full-time missions with Karl: one in the Canada Winnipeg Mission (1988-1991), with Karl serving as the Mission President, and a mission in the Denmark Copenhagen Mission (2005-2006).
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Trevor, and her sister, Sylvia. Norma is survived by her five children: Donald (Maria), Joseph (Lori), Janice (Tim), Karl (Kristen), and Trevor (Jennifer), twenty-four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
