Norman George Casper

Norman George Casper, age 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep in his daughter’s home on Thursday May 2, 2024. Born March 6, 1932 in Tabiona Utah to Clarence and Ila Duchesne Casper. Norman was raised in Tabiona, Utah. He played Baseball and Basketball while attending Tabiona High School. His favorite entertainment was riding Tony, his horse, all over the valley.

Norman’s first job at the age of 15, was at the sawmill in Tabiona, Utah. On September 19, 1951, at the age of 19, he enlisted in the Navy for four years. He made two trips to the Arctic Circle on a submarine.

After four years in the Navy, he returned to Tabiona, where he married his sweetheart Loretta Mary Jones on January 28, 1956. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Salt Lake City the summer after they were married. Norman went to electronic school at Radio Institute for one year. After he graduated he went to work for Hill Air Force Base from 1958-1988, where he retired from there. After retiring, he and Loretta did craft shows all over the Intermountain West for 18 years.

Norman always enjoyed doing yard work and had the best looking and nicest groomed yard in the neighborhood. Norman was organized and took pride in all that he did. Norman was the best dad for his three daughters. He was always there to help others and never complained.

Survived by daughter Julie Ann (Wayne) Denning, Vicki Sue (Kes) Armstrong, and Suzette Kay (Todd) Paskett, 10 Grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Loretta Mary Jones Casper, father Clarence Casper, mother Ila Duchesne Giles, siblings Darreld Casper and Ila Mae Gordon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 12:15 p.m. in the Jennings Lane Ward, 1298 North 400 West, Centerville, Utah, 84014, where a viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. prior to services. Interment will follow the services at Lakeview Memorial Estates 1640 Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah 84010.
