Odetta Van Leuven Gleed passed away quietly December 30, 2013 at Oquirrh Meadows Care Center in West Valley City, Utah.
Odetta was born February 6, 1921 in Clifton, Idaho to Marvin George Van Leuven and Millie A. Henderson, the second of five children. She married Darrell Thomas Gleed on May 31, 1938 in Logan, Utah. They had three children, Virgil William, Pennie Kay and Douglas Marvin. Mom was a wonderful loving and caring mother and grandma. She has 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grand children.
Mom worked at Logan Woolen Mills in Logan for many years. After retiring she moved to Taylorsville, Utah in 1992. She will be missed by family and many friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her sisters Utona and Uarda, her brothers Vee and Jed, her husband of 54 years, her son Douglas and grandson Shane.
Great heartfelt thanks go out to the staff at Oquirrh Meadows Care Center and Access Hospice for the love and care they give mom in her short time with them.
A viewing will be Friday January 3, 2014 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 S 2 E Salt Lake City, Utah from 6:oo – 8:p.m. Grave side service will be held at Logan City cemetery Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. Online guestbook available at www.russonmortuary.com
