Olive Christy Larsen Bown

Olive Christy Larsen Bown left this life on January 8, 2018 at her home in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on April 4, 1928 in Centerfield, Utah to Linden Lauritz Larsen and Florence Deseldia Olson. She married Elwood Preston Bown in December 1946. In 1959 they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of Michael Preston, Elwood Lynn, Stephan Jay (Debbie), William L. (Tristina), Julia, Ronald James (Janet), Jeffery Clarke (Emma), and Jennifer. Olive loved many people and some she viewed as her children, Shawna (Reid) Bullock, Becky (Lyle) Edwards, Vic (Debbie) Lewis, Tim VanScoter, and Linda Backstrom. She has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren whom she loves and considers great blessings. They describe her as a sweet, sassy, spunky lady! She created many wonderful memories for each of them. Olive has a strong testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and loves the Church. She led a life of tireless service and is an amazing example to her family. She has a special love for the youth and had a great influence on countless people throughout her life. Olive was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, and 3 sons (Michael, Stephan, and Jeffery). A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix. Those who wish may also visit from 9-9:45 a.m., followed by the funeral at 10:00 a.m., Monday January 15 at LDS Shaw Butte Ward, 325 W. Coral Gables, Phoenix. On Tuesday, January 16 there will be a viewing from 6-8:00 p.m. at Russon  Mortuary, 295 N. Main St., Bountiful, Utah. A potluck party celebrating her life will be held Wednesday January 17 from 2-4:00 p.m. at West Bountiful 1st Ward, 311 N. 800 West, West Bountiful.
