Opal Adams Tolman 1914-2011
BOUNTIFUL. Opal Adams Tolman died July 21, 2011 in her home in Bountiful, Utah, one month prior to her 97th birthday. She was born in Oakley, Idaho, August 21, 1914 to John Adams and Mary Jane Phippen Harper Adams and married William Odell Tolman April 27, 1934 in Pocatello, Idaho. They were sealed in the Logan Temple June 12, 1934. William died September 25, 1980. She treasured her family gatherings and Church service. She worked in the auxiliary organizations as a teacher and leader. She was a quintessential nursery leader. Her neighbors, friends, and ward family were dear to her. She loved her flower garden, embroidering, crocheting, needlepoint, and decorating her home for the holidays, especially her seasonal trees. Opal is survived by sons John O. Tolman (Joan), Salt Lake City; Darrel W. Tolman (Barbara), No. Salt Lake; Michael W. Tolman, Bountiful; and daughters Shirlene Tolman, Bountiful; Loraine T. Pace (Alfred), Logan; and Loretta T. Thueson (DeLoy) of Jerome, Idaho. She has 26 grandchildren, 88 g grandchildren, and 18 gg grandchildren. A daughter, Janice Jane T. Taylor, gdaughters, Kari Thueson and Brianne Pace and gson, Preston Youngman preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held at the Bountiful 31st Ward, 585 East Center, Bountiful, July 27 at 11:00. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and 10:00 to 10:45 at the Bountiful 31st Ward. Interment will be at the East Lawn Memorial Estates in Provo, Utah. Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com.
