Orel Batchelor Bickmore

Orel Bickmore,  82, died peacefully, attended by family at her home in Centerville on July 3, 2018

She was born January 23, 1936 in Boise, Idaho to Mildred J. Earl and John Shirley Batchelor and was the third of five children.  She always felt unique that she was a twin.

She loved beautiful things and was delighted with all that Mother Nature had to offer.  Fresh flowers brought her joy, as did birds and her family.  She was artistic and creative and loved colors.  She painted and enjoyed quilting.  She could spend hours in a quilt store or shopping for items to decorate and brighten her home.  She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. Additionally, she was always a champion for the underdog.

In her later years, Orel faced a number of health problems and through them all she became a strong fighter who wouldn’t give up.  She continued to love life and all of it’s beauty.  Her family wished to thank the many health care professionals who labored tirelessly for her wellbeing.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Arlin Bickmore, daughter, Dawn (Mike) Chaston of St. George, Utah, and son, James (Christina) Bickmore of Provo, Utah.  Brothers, James (Barbara) Batchelor of Layton, Utah, and Phil (Maureta) Batchelor of Nevada.  Seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Sieport and brothers, Richard and Paul.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Centerville Park Ward, 1125 N 400 W, Centerville.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, July 6, 2018 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and Saturday morning at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 am.  Interment will be at the East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Provo, Utah.
