Pamela Anne Sheppard

November 27, 1950 — November 29, 2024

Salt Lake City, UT

Pamela Anne Sheppard, 74, a retired Registered Nurse, passed away at St Mark’s Hospital, Salt Lake City, UT, after a brief illness. At her passing she was in the presence of her cousin Jesse Aragon and wife DeDe along with several of her dearest friends.

Pam was born November 27, 1950, to the late William R and Augusta Winn Sheppard. Being born into a career military family, Pam spent the first two decades of her life moving base to base from Maine to Alaska where she had many adventures, and made many lifelong friends.

Our father’s retirement landed the family in Williston, Vermont, where Pam began working in a variety of retail sales positions. She soon discovered that she was a real people person – always wanting to help people feel good about themselves. She dedicated the remainder of her life to pleasing people in many capacities.

Pam relocated to Salt Lake City where she attended the University of Utah earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. Over the years she continued to be the person that worked to make life better for so many people. At the age of 50, she took a leap of faith and enrolled once again in school and graduated as a Registered Nurse! In the medical field, Pam found fulfillment in working in the varied areas of medicine eventually becoming a patient advocate while working for Aetna Medical Insurance where her enthusiasm for patient well being earned her recognition and numerous awards.

Pam loved animals and was always adopting a rescue dog or cat. Or sometimes both if her heart strings were tugged just right. She is survived by her most recent fur babies Bandit the dog and Sam the Cat.

She is also survived by her brother William Sheppard Jr and wife Judith of Virginia. Niece Lauren Cates, husband Clinton and their children Kavela and Sheppard. Nephews Christopher Sheppard, husband Dillon; and Gregory Sheppard, fiance Lexi Davenport.

Her Sister Marilee Needham and husband James of Addison, VT. Niece Stephanie Rule, husband Chad and their children Emma and Harlow. Nephews James Needham Jr. and partner Erica Shannon; Patrick Needham and Amanda Giard with their children Dayton and Boden.

She also leaves to cherish her memory many dear friends locally and throughout the country.

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the St Mark’s Hospital ICU Unit for the outstanding care and compassion shown to our sister at the end of her life’s journey.
