Parker Duane Hedin, age 26, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on October 28, 2016. He was born March 1st, 1990 to Darren and Lori Hedin in Provo, Utah. He was the fourth of five children in a family that dearly loved him.
Parker was diagnosed early in his life with Autism, but he never allowed that to hold him back from doing the things he loved.
In his childhood, Parker participated in Top Soccer, T-ball, and Jr. Jazz basketball.
He became an avid Utah Jazz fan and NBA follower. He kept us all up-to-date on the latest happenings in the league such as trades, injuries, and scores.
Parker attended Viewmont High School from 2006-2009, receiving his diploma in 2012 after completing the Steps program. While at Viewmont, he fell in love with music and choir and he had the opportunity to participate in Viewmont's production of Aida. Thus began his love and passion for musical theater.
Parker would go on to perform in several productions at Roger's Memorial Theater and Centerpoint Legacy Theater, his most recent being Beauty and the Beast. Parker was known by many in the community for his big smile and his love of life. Everyone he knew was considered, by him, as his best friend.
Parker received a Viking Service Award in 2014 for time voluntarily spent helping special needs students at Viewmont High School. He would go on to complete a 1 year service mission in 2016 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Welfare Square. After his mission, he continued to volunteer several days a week in the bakery at Welfare Square.
Parker was often seen on his scooter traveling to and from work at Dick's Market and to his favorite fast food restaurants in the area.
Parker is survived by his parents Darren and Lori Hedin; siblings; Tyler (Brooke) Hedin, Emily (Weston) Long, Andy (Jessica) Hedin, Caleb (Carolyn) Hedin; nieces; Katelyn, Reagan, Reese and Brynn, nephews; Tanner and Stetson; grandfather Duane Hedin and grandmother Alice Nelson and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Janice Hedin and grandfather Dale Nelson, and also by his Uncle Jeff Hedin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday November 4, 2016 at the Rock Church on Porter Lane, 435 W 400 S in Centerville. A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N Main in Bountiful on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm and Friday morning 9:45-10:45 am at the Rock Church prior to funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any Zions Bank to a scholarship fund for special education in Parker's name.
