Patricia Ann Martin Anderson

After having received a steady stream of family at her bedside, Patricia Ann Martin Anderson passed away on December 8, 2024. Pat was born on May 29, 1939, to Grace Leda and Jay Leith Martin. She grew up in Salina, Utah, with two older sisters - Marilyn and Gay - and one younger brother - Kent. Pat attended North Sevier High School, where she was on the pep cheer squad and played on the basketball team. Basketball was life for Pat until she met Oris Clark Anderson. Clark bought Pat a ring that she initially thought came from a Cracker Jack box, but once he showed her the receipt, she knew he was the real deal and agreed to marry him. The two eloped to the springtime paradise of Ely, Nevada, on March 3, 1957. 

After marriage, Pat and Clark moved to Salt Lake City. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, of which they were lifelong members, in August of 1961. Pat and Clark lived and worked in Salt Lake City until 1968, when they moved their young family to Kemmerer, Wyoming. Between Salt Lake City and Kemmerer, Pat and Clark raised four daughters - Janene, Stacey, Kim (Kimmie), and Kristi. Pat set an example for her daughters with her work ethic and church service. She served in many leadership callings at the ward and stake levels throughout her life. In 2002, Pat and Clark were called to serve a church mission in Nauvoo, Illinois, where they served for two years. Pat was truly in her element as a missionary; she got to talk to her heart's content as she led guided tours while teaching thousands of visitors about church history. 

After their mission, Pat and Clark moved to Orem, Utah, where they would be closer to their kids and grandkids. Their home in Orem came with a boat that almost never worked, but that seemed like a good idea at the time. Pat was always game to boat, raft, or hike with her family, even if she needed to find a "Grandma Bench" somewhere along the way to sit while the kids finished the hike. At home, Pat always welcomed family. She would be ready with raspberry jam (either from the bushes in her backyard or from Bear Lake, where she traveled with family most years), homemade Chex Mix in her trademark yellow Tupperware bowl, or an endless stock of Costco muffins. Pat's family room came prepared with dominoes, People magazines, and a Nintendo 64; always something for everyone. Pat crocheted, cross-stitched, tied quilts for her grandchildren, tended her flower garden, watched sports, and always stayed up-to-date on pop culture (thank you, People Magazine). Pat was a country music aficionado but was not afraid to live la vida loca, spinning Ricky Martin on the regular. The family and friends she grew up with remember her as Patsy; her grandkids who had gotten caught on choppy Bear Lake with her will always know her as the Maiden of the Mist (the one and only). 

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Jay, her sister, Marilyn, her brother, Kent, her husband, Clark, and her daughter, Stacey (Brent). She is survived by a whole flock of kiddos - three daughters: Janene (Mark), Kim (Brad), and Kristi (Mike); as well as 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren (soon to be 6).

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Russon Mortuary 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Timpanogos Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Orem, Utah, following funeral services.
