CENTERVILLE, UT – Patricia Ann West Rigby born and raised in Salt Lake City on November 8, 1933, returned home to her Heavenly Father on August 16, 2013, after battling six rounds of cancer. Even though she wanted to make 80 years old, she was only 79. She wanted to be a wife and mother and was married to our dad, Seymour Dee Rigby, in the Salt Lake Temple on September 25, 1953. Her family will miss her cooking, her laugh, talking to her, her council and sincerity. Mom leaves behind her eternal companion, Seymour Dee Rigby and all of her children, William Dee (Kristy) Rigby, Debra Pauline Rigby, S. Dru (Kathy) Rigby, Dirk West Rigby, Darren Barnes Rigby and her brother Richard William “Dick” (Helen) West. She enjoyed and loved all of her 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who will miss her greatly at their family parties. She missed saying goodbye to many nieces, nephews, cousins and close relatives but loved seeing them when they would unexpectedly pop in to visit or even have competitions to see who was the most recent to visit Aunt Pat! She and dad have a close-knit circle of friends whom she will miss and dad will need in the coming days ahead. She is preceded in death by her parents William Arthur and Maude Bridge West and her brother Ronald Arthur (Mary Jane) West. Mom had many interests. Her favorites were traveling with dad and their relatives and friends, quilting with her buddies, playing cards and other family games and going for a diet coke with her girlfriends. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held numerous callings including Relief Society President, Librarian and Visiting Teacher. Mom graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah shortly before her marriage. We sincerely would like to thank the Lakeview Hospital 3rd floor nurses, the ICU nurses and Dr. Regina Klein for their vigilant and tender care of our mom.
