Patricia Burgener Russell

Leesburg, VA – Patricia Burgener Russell passed away on March 1, 2017. 

Patricia was born on September 11, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Maynard Lamont and Sarah Mable Burgener.  She graduated from Weber High in 1954 and from Utah State University in 1958, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and participated in the Lambda Delta Sigma sorority.  She taught first grade in Ogden Utah and Orange County California after graduation and then served an LDS mission in the Florida Mission where she loved serving the members in Jacksonville.

In 1967 she married Wayne J. Russell in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they had five children. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions but enjoyed most those callings that gave her the opportunity to share her love of music.   Pat also combined her love of music and teaching by spending years teaching hundreds of students to play the piano.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband Wayne, and her grandson Isaac Wilkerson. She is survived by her children Karen (Chad), Kristi Wilkerson (Bryan), David (Julie), Michael (Lynnette), Adam (Amanda), Angela Rands (David), and Joseph.  She was also blessed with 23 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in Leesburg Virginia on March 7th, and a viewing will be held at Russon Brothers mortuary, 1941 N. Main Street, Farmington, UT, from 12:30-1:30 on Friday March 10th. Following the viewing a graveside service for family and close friends will be held at the Roy City Cemetery at 2:00pm.  In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a contribution to LDS philanthropies.
