Patricia Benham Guthrie, 87, passed away peacefully and with dignity in her home December 17th 2023. Attended by her sons and daughter’s in-law.
Patricia grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Married Darrel Wayne Guthrie (deceased) and reared 3 sons; Kirk (Toby), Bret (Debbie) and Todd (Shelly). She is survived by her 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and her dear sister in laws; Arlene VanDyke and Annette Guthrie.
Soon after Todd started school, she began her journey to seek professional degrees from both Brigham Young University and California Lutheran University. Dedicating her professional life to the youth of Simi Valley, California. She worked tirelessly for over 30 years as a teacher and administrator.
Her students would attest that a teacher's influence is eternal and can never be measured. Her work helped them find strengths, wiped away countless tears, overpower demons and conquer their fears. Patt’s life lifted thousands.
Her final, and very happy, years were spent amongst her dearest friends and the wonderful staff of Fairfield Village Senior Living Community in Layton Utah.
A special thanks to the beloved Angie, Cierra and the many others from Inspiration Hospice to which the Guthrie Family will be eternally grateful. Their tireless dedication and kindness in working with Patt and her family and friends knew no limit.
The celebration of her life event is private.
Hot Fudge Sunday Party will be held in her apartment at Fairfield Village, Layton Utah January 5th from 6:00-8:00 pm. All who knew her are invited.
