Patricia Jean Hughes Wagner

Patricia Jean Smith Hughes Wagner – Born in Salt Lake City Utah, Nov. 9, 1940, weighing in at 2 lbs. 14 oz. to Verl Reed and Evelyn Couch Smith.  She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and her loyal dogs, Chloe and Kirby on Nov. 28, 2017.  Mom loved her dogs.  There was never a time in her life that she was without a dog. 

She graduated from Bountiful High in 1960 and she married Glenn E. Hughes August 12, 1960, later divorcing.

She married Jack A. Wagner Jr, Nov 19 1979.  After they married they moved to Walnut Creek and Concord, CA., where they met many new friends.  They joined the local Elks chapter and RV group, called the Elkahols traveling and making memories until Jack’s untimely passing on Sep 26, 1988.  She then moved back to Utah to be near her family. 

Mom loved football and NASCAR.  She was a season ticket holder of the SF 49-ers and in attendance with her son, Scott when the 49’ers won the XXIII Super Bowl Championship in 1989.  In 2016, she attended the NASCAR Sprint Cup race with her children and grandchildren to watch Dale Ernhardt Jr.’s car race as the Hughes General Contractors car.  A highlight was meeting Dale Jr., and Jamie McMurray and being part of the VIP suite. 

She was deeply proud of her children and grandchildren.  She loved to “brag” about them.  She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Debbie (Damon) Hugoe; and her sons, Scott Hughes (Tania), and Todd Hughes (Karyn).  Her grandchildren are:  Stephanie, Jennifer, Rebecca, Jason, Amber, Cody, Kyle, Chelsea, Jessica, and Heather.  Her great grandchildren are: Sophie, Shelbie, Alex, Ashlee, Alivia, Auston, Donny, Jack, Hayden, Tessa, Londyn, Beckett, Bentley, Kambree, Keylee, Emma. 

She is survived by her brother, Gary V. Smith, and Jack’s beautiful daughters, Debbie (Rob) Morgan, Michelle (Richard) Wilson, and Kim (Bob) Barker.  Her grandchildren with Jack are:  James, Elizabeth, Michael, Rebecca, and Olivia.  Their great grandchildren are:  Isabel, Isaac, Ana, Jaxon, Kahlan, Aidyn, and Madison.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Freddie, daughter, Shirley Hughes, husband Jack, grandchildren, Sean and Ryan Snoddy, and her dogs Barney, Lady, Missy, Corky, and Bandit.

A special thanks to grandson Peter Ritz for everything he did for grandma.

A viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary in Bountiful on Wednesday, November 29, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and on Thursday, November 30, from 9:45 – 10:45 am.  Funeral Services will be held at Russon Mortuary Chapel on November 30 at 11:00 am.  Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
