Our beautiful Angel (Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend) on Earth, unexpectedly left to return to her Heavenly home. Pat was born in Provo, Utah March 18, 1943 to Fred and Gena Gourdin. She grew up in Orem with one older brother Paul and three younger sisters Ora, Mary Ann and Yvonne. She met her eternal sweetheart, Russell Lunceford, at Orem High School. She was married and sealed for time and all eternity August 11, 1966 to Russ. She was blessed with six sons Rhett, Ryan, Ross, Rod, Rory and Rand and 20 Grandchildren.
Pat’s passion was always her family and helping them and others. She loved watching her sons participate in school and sporting activities. She was always a room mother for one of the boys in elementary school, promoting the importance of class work and working hard to do your best. Often during little league season, she could be seen with Russ watching up to five football games on a Saturday. When baseball season came, she participated and for a couple of years was even the Bronco League President. Pat also loved watching her boys perform on the cello, piano and anything else they were involved in. Her love of watching her boys in football, baseball, basketball and wrestling continued on to her grandchildren where she added watching soccer, swimming, dance recitals and any other adventure they participated in. She and Russ visited many different venues throughout the state to show their love and support for their children and grandchildren.
Nothing was more important to Grandma Pat then family and having the family together as often as possible. She lived for having family dinners and parties. She always took time to find out what her Grandkids were doing and what was important to them. Sharing their hopes and dreams was of great importance. Even more than her kids and grandkids, Pat loved her eternal companion Russell. She was always at his side helping and supporting him with whatever he was doing. He was her number one priority.
Pat was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had the opportunity to serve in many different callings. A few of her favorites were as a Primary Teacher, Young Women’s President and Compassionate Service Coordinator.
We, her children, Rhett (and Jennifer), Ryan (and Michelle), Ross (and Jennifer), Rory (and Kelly), Rod (and Katie), Rand (and Joy) Lunceford honor her, as do her 20 grandchildren. Pat is also survived by her sisters, Mary Ann Quarnberg, Yvonne Peterson, Ora Shields and her brother Paul Gourdin.
