Patricia Lunt Weed

March 31, 1930 — November 20, 2018

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done valiantly, but thou excellest them all."  -Proverbs
Heaven called home one of its most precious angels on November 20, 2018.  Our sweet Patricia, wife of Gordon Harold Weed, mother to Steve (Kayleen) Weed, Karen (Scott) Clawson, Marianne (Joseph) Featherstone and Michelle (Mark) Lalli has returned home with honor.
Born to George H. and Myrtle J. Lunt, Patricia grew up on Laird Avenue in Salt Lake City and was often heard to say, "No one had a happier childhood than I did!"  She grew up with big brother Dixon Lunt, and her best friends and sisters, Anna Jeanne Bruderer and Louise Martin – all of whom preceded her in death and who we know she is currently having a glorious reunion with.
Patricia graduated from East High and then went on to graduate from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She met her future husband while attending the "U".  She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and had a fun social life with many suitors and so Gordon decided he needed to join a fraternity so he could "pin" her and take her out of circulation.  They were married June 11,1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Gordon adored his "Dee Cee" and treated her like a queen throughout  their 67 years of marriage.
Gordon had chosen the Air Force as his career and so Patricia left the familiar Utah mountains and headed out for a lifelong adventure as an Air Force Wife. No matter where they were assigned or however long Gordon was gone, Patricia was strong and supportive.  She never complained and was never one for drama.  She tackled whatever came next and did it with a smile, even though her husband was gone much of the time.
Patricia taught Kindergarten a half day at various times in her life, but her priority was always her husband and children.  A wonderful cook and homemaker, she truly made home a heaven on earth for her family.
Patricia loved to laugh, garden, travel, spend time with her grandchildren and meet new people.  She had a knack for making you feel that you were the most important person in the world. All of her grandchildren and great grandchildren would tell you that they were her favorite.
She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints and served in many different leadership positions throughout her life.  She served on the General Board of the Young Women's Organization under Elaine Cannon and served two missions with her husband. One to Korea for 18 months and one as a Service Missionary in the Public Affairs Department of the Church in the V.I.P. Hosting Section.  She was devoted to her Savior and utilized her many talents to bless the lives of others.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Gordon, her four children and their spouses, 21 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 27th at 11:00 at the Chase Lane Ward, 1125 North 400 West in Centerville.  A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:45. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Estates in Bountiful.
The family would like to express their thanks and love to the amazing staff at Barton Creek Assisted Living in Bountiful for the tender care they gave to Patricia in the last years of her life.
