Patricia “Patti” Hunter Parrish, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2015 in St. George, Utah. Patti was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, the 3rd child of Bobbi and Louis Hunter. She graduated in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and taught elementary school in Utah for several years before and after her marriage. A colleague and friend, Joyce Parrish, introduced Patti to her brother, David, and the couple was married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on August 23, 1965. They raised 6 children in several states including: Utah, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Iowa. Patti and David served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; in Indonesia and Ethiopia, respectively. Patti loved to read, play the piano and organ, sing and spend time with family. One of her favorite callings was Primary Chorister. Her legendary song charts are still being used today in many Primaries across the country. Patti is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, David, and their children: Todd David Parrish (Shawna), Kristin Parrish Corey (Jon), Kim Parrish Auch (Clay), Katie Parrish Ball (Nathan), Kathleen Parrish Smith (Scott), and David Hunter Parrish (Julie). She is survived by 23 grandchildren. Patti is also survived by her siblings: Louis Hunter, Mary Anne Hunter Pederson, Barbara Hunter Cardon, and Richard Hunter.
Funeral Services are through Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary and will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bountiful 27th Ward Building: 1145 North 200 East, Bountiful, Utah. The viewing will begin at 11:00 that morning.
Interment-Centerville City Cemetery.
