Patricia Jensen Walker, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully, on Sunday January 21st. She was surrounded by her loving family, and wonderful friends, at Creekside Senior Center in Bountiful. Pat was born June 29, 1933, to Wallace Jensen and Kate Christensen, in Mohrland, Utah. She was an easy child and very responsible. She had many friends and developed a lot of talents.
Pat went to South High School and loved singing, dancing, cheerleading, and boys. She met her husband-to-be Bob Walker, when she was 13 at a dance, and they dated sporadically until she was 17, and a senior in high school. She married him on March 12, 1951, just as he was leaving for officers training during the Korean war. She joined him later, after she graduated. They lived on bases around the country and had their first child in Indiana. After the army they settled in Utah, where three more children joined their family. A job opportunity took them to Mesa, Arizona for 10 wonderful years, where they had two more children, and made lifelong friends. They moved back to Utah and resided in Centerville for 45 years.
Pat was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She served in many callings but especially loved the Young Women!
Pat loved to dance, and they had many friends to join them weekly at the Fort Douglas Club in Salt Lake. She loved to dress up, and always looked elegant in everything. She loved to sing, especially with her sister, Judi. She played the piano, did many crafts, sewed beautifully, and loved to decorate her house. She was always giving service to everyone around her and loved all of her neighbors. She showed all of us unconditional love, that we will carry with us forever.
She is survived by her 6 children, Chris (Mike) LeBaron, Laurie (Dave) Curtis, Shelley (Mark) Oborn, Blake (Mindy) Walker, Todd (Melissa) Walker, and Mark (Melanie) Walker. She also leaves behind 33 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, her sister Judi Mellen, and sister-in-law Donna Walker. She is preceded in death by her eternal companion of 68 years, Robert Walker.
