Patti R Malmrose

May 31, 1948 — June 2, 2022

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a quick battle with cancer.

Patricia Rollins Malmrose was born to Verna and Harold Rollins. She was raised in Mountain Green, Utah on the family farm and was the youngest of three sisters. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and shared her talents in many positions in Relief Society and Primary. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing in church and the community.

Patti attended Morgan High School and was active in music, drama, and dance. She played the oboe in the high school band and was also the drum majorette. Patti spent hours practicing piano in her youth, which continued throughout her life. She was an accomplished pianist and loved to share her talent with others. She loved to sing and would often break out into song with her mom and sisters at family events. She attended Weber State after high school.

She married Gene Jones in the Salt Lake Temple and raised a family in Mountain Green, UT. They had four children – Quinn, Christian, Zachary, and Jacob. Her passion for music was passed down to each of her children. One of her favorite things to do was to perform with her children, most recently with two of her sons, Zach & Jake, in a contemporary jazz band.

Patti moved to Bountiful, UT in 1998 after marrying Gary Malmrose. Patti finished a degree in interior design and immediately put it into practice within her home in Bountiful as well as while employed at San Francisco Design. Prior to moving to Bountiful, she also worked at Browning Arms in Mountain Green, UT in positions ranging from receptionist to sales representative. She taught piano and dance lessons and also was the high school drill team instructor while Christian was in high school.

Patti loved to travel and had a talent for organizing family trips and activities. Everything from Disneyland trips to barbeques on the ranch were special for her and all who attended. She was a foodie and wasn’t afraid to try new recipes. She also perfected some recipes that have been passed down in the family and will definitely continue. If one left hungry after a family party, it wasn’t because of the lack of incredible food.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family. She accompanied her children and grandchildren on the piano whenever the opportunity presented itself throughout her life. She had a special love for all of her grandchildren. Her doors were open to help and support family whenever needed. The welfare of her children and grandchildren was always in her thoughts and prayers.

She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and enjoyed their luncheons and discussions. She loved to read and of course, to go shopping. She enjoyed book clubs and would often read the same books as her grandchildren were reading so she could discuss characters, plots and endings with them.

She is survived by her son, Quinn (Stephanie); daughter, Christian (Tyler) Charlesworth; son, Zach (Trish); son, Jake (Katie); sister, Lynette Patterson; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and her brother-in-law.
