Paul Barlow Blood

October 13, 1921 — July 9, 2016

Paul Barlow Blood, 94, passed to the other side of the veil on Saturday, July 9, 2016.  He was born in Ogden, Utah on October 13, 1921 to Byron Layton Blood and Olive Theresa Barlow.  On October 13, 1941, he married the love of his life, Faye Nelson, in the Salt Lake Temple. During the course of his life he began living in Ogden, UT and later moved to Bountiful, UT.  When he downsized his living arrangements, he moved to Sandy, UT.

Over the course of his lifetime he worked for several different companies.  During World War II, he was a civilian payroll auditor at Hill Field; at one time he was an ambulance driver; he worked for General Mills, ZCMI School & Office Supply, and Beneficial Life.  He obtained his real estate license and worked as a salesman and later as a broker.  He had an entrepreneurial streak in him and he started his own company.  He designed and manufactured his own high-pressure washer.  He obtained a patent for a critical part of the pressure washer.  When personal computers were beginning to change the world, he became involved with the first Macintosh.  His enthusiasm for the Macintosh knew no bounds.  He became a reviewer of software and wrote articles for publication in Macintosh magazines about the software he reviewed.  He loved to help others maximize the usefulness of the Macintosh.

Paul was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Among his many callings were Aaronic Priesthood Quorum Advisor, Stake Athletic Director, Stake High Councilor, Stake Auditor, and Gospel Doctrine Teacher.

Paul and Faye brought five children into the world:  William C. Montgomery, Byron M. Blood, Beth Blood Baldwin, Janene Blood, and Rebekah Blood Wing (Brent).  Paul was preceded in death by Faye, his parents, Janene, and one great grandson, Dylan R. Jackson.  One sister, Helen Blood, four children, 20 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren survive him.
