Final call for Paul Clinton Cessna, born November 14, 1962 in Modesto, CA. Paul was the only son and youngest child of Clinton Clyde and Mary Francis Groves Cessna.
Paul began his life of serving at age 17, when he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. During his 10 years enlisted he performed search and rescue, small boat operations, and 2 tours to Antarctica, earning the title of Golden Shellback. After marrying Lorriette Judkins Sept 10, 1993 in Kirkland, WA, he continued serving, this time as a Firefighter/EMT with Layton Fire Dept. He loved being able to serve others at any time. Here he developed some of his closest friendships, adding to longtime friends Greg Fritzler and Don Chapman. Paul and Lorri were sealed for eternity in the Logan Temple in 1999. They had 3 children: Marina Dee, Cameron Paul, and Chandler Paul. After a back injury ended his firefighting career, Paul returned to a career as an aircraft mechanic at Boeing in SLC. He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2014 ending that career. As he endured years of chemo and procedures, he was always an example to those near him. Through it all he tried to attend as many of his children's events as possible.
Paul returned home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents Clinton and Mary Cessna and Mother (in-law) Marlene Judkins. He is survived by his wife and 3 children, siblings and in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, and too many friends to count. His boisterous laugh will be missed and his knowledge and love of knots, boats, scouting, and especially fire will be difficult to replace. We thank our many friends and family for their support over the years. We especially send love and hugs to the patients, staff and nurses in Dr. Hansen's office. They shared weekly in our stories of hardship and joy, laughing and being part of our extended family. They're here when we needed them even after he passed.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 6th at 11:00 am. Viewings will take place Thursday April 5th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm and again Friday at 10:00 am prior to the service. All will be held at the LDS chapel 1828 N 3000 W in Clinton. Interment will be at the Clinton City Cemetery.
