Paul Eldren Reimann peacefully passed away on March 24, 2016, after a battle with metastatic melanoma, in Bountiful, Utah.
Paul was born to Paul Emil and Maybeth Farr Reimann on October 13, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated in the first graduating class of Highland High School. After earning his Eagle Scout, he faithfully served an LDS Mission to Uruguay and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Paul married Elizabeth Blessing on June 27, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of four children: Kathy, Kristin, Kim, and Kent. His children remember him as a kind and gentle man. He was always looking for ways to improve the lives of others and he loved doing anything he could to be of service. Throughout his life, he donated close to 100 pints of blood. He had a special talent for taking notes in very tiny handwriting and making endless lists of translations and ideas. He loved to read and was always learning. He was a deep thinker who liked to invent and he even held a few patents.
Paul began his career at the Naval Weapon Center in China Lake, California. He had a deep love for his country and freedoms and served four years in the Army and National Guard. He worked for over 30 years as a software engineer for Hill Air Force Base. After he retired, he enjoyed serving at the LDS Global Service Center and LDS Employment Center. The motto “Be Prepared” was more than the Scout motto to him; it was his way of life. He served faithfully in many Church callings and was always willing to give whatever he had. He was a true example of Christ-like love and kindness.
Paul and Elizabeth were looking forward to their 50th wedding anniversary in June. He loved his wife – and the many pounds he put on from her cooking. He was a constant example of quiet service to his children and his favorite place to be was spending time with them. He cherished his 13 grandchildren and was so proud of their accomplishments. His positive, upbeat and enthusiastic attitude will be missed at every family gathering.
Paul is survived by his wife Elizabeth; children Kathy (Doug) Atkinson of Samaria, Idaho; Kristin (Sean) Roylance of Elk Ridge, Utah; Kim Reimann of Woods Cross, Utah; Kent (Rebecca) Reimann of Clearfield, Utah; grandchildren Logan, Dallin, and J.D.
