Paul Harold Anderson

Paul Harold Anderson, our husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, peacefully passed away at home on Friday evening, December 17, 2021, after an extensive battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Paul was born on October 22, 1962 to Harold and Gloria Anderson in Provo, Utah. His three sisters sprinted up and down the street that morning declaring, “It’s a boy! It’s a boy!” He is beloved by his family.

He loved his childhood and adored his parents, sisters, and extended family. He had fond memories playing cards, solving puzzles, celebrating the holidays, attending family reunions, and cheering on the BYU cougars. He also spent hours with friends playing basketball and football, building forts in vacant lots, and hiking Squaw Peak.

He played sports at Timpview High School, bagged groceries at Smith’s Food King for 37 cents an hour, and served as seminary president.

He diligently and faithfully served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Washington D.C. He used his gifts to testify of Jesus Christ.

He attended Brigham Young University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance. In the summers, he labored pouring concrete for the Tanner Building on campus. He enjoyed spending time with friends and competing in intramurals. Most of all, he loved meeting and dating his sweetheart, Tani. He proposed to the girl of his dreams at Sundance Resort.

Paul and Tani were sealed on May 21, 1987 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Paul recalled that Tani “radiated like an angel.”

Paul felt blessed to work with many friends throughout his professional life. He was a successful Senior Manager at Allen Communication and Executive VP at ProPay. He is an honest man who quickly earned the trust of his coworkers and clients. He formed lifelong relationships with them.

He loved sharing his hobbies with friends and family including: shooting, fishing, golfing, skiing, camping, cycling, barbecuing, storytelling, reading, studying the scriptures, celebrating the holidays, playing games, and watching sports and movies. Some of his life’s highlights were salmon fishing in Alaska, making a hole-in-one in Maui, scuba-diving with sharks in Honduras, and touring The Holy Land.

Paul loves serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed callings in nursery, primary, Young Men, Sunday school, Elders Quorum, High Council, and family history. His latest callings were bishopric member of the Eaglewood Ward, and ordinance worker at the Bountiful Temple.

His greatest joy was being a dad. He loved snuggling, playing, and laughing with his daughters. He endured beauty makeovers and family teasing. He supported and enjoyed many soccer, drama, cheer, and piano performances. He raised his girls with unconditional love and relied on the spirit to guide him in his parenting.

He loved encouraging adventure on family vacations including: riding extreme rollercoasters, certifying at firearms courses, and snorkeling with whale sharks.

When his daughters married, he excitedly welcomed their husbands and loved them as his own. He was over the moon when he became a grandpa. He absolutely adores all of his grandkids and passionately loves his family.

Paul wants to be remembered as a devoted, fun dad and a loving husband to Tani. His testimony is rock solid in the Restoration of the Gospel and in the Lord Jesus Christ. At his passing, he was surrounded by his family. He fought intensely to utter his last words: “love my family” and “testify.”

Paul was embraced in heaven by his parents; Harold Junior Anderson, Gloria Singleton Anderson, sister; Karen Ekins, mother-in-law; Marilyn LaVon Helbing Reynolds, and angel ancestors.

Paul is deeply missed and remembered by his wife; Tani RaNae Reynolds Anderson, children; Jennifer Marie (Ryan Robert) Richey, Ashley Nicole (McKay Arthur) Richins, Emily Anne (Austin Tanner) Goff, grandchildren; Jack Ryan Richey, Drew Christian Richey, Audrey Brynne Richins, Carter Paul Richins, siblings; (Brent) Ekins, Patricia (Ronald) Ford, Sheri (Doug) Rees, father-in-law; C. Russell Reynolds, siblings in-law; Jeff (Brenda) Reynolds, Teri (David) Kocherhans, Julie (Ryan) Savage, large extended family; cousins, nieces, and nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 200 South Eagle Ridge Drive, North Salt Lake. There will be a viewing Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and again Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.
