FRUIT HEIGHTS, UT – Paul Vernon Hill passed away at his home after a two and a half year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, he was a real trooper through it all.
Paul was the second born of three children to Marlin V. and Edna Noorda Hill in Ogden, Utah. He was a 1969 Clearfield High School graduate. Paul loved his Heavenly Father and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Oregon/Washington area, and due to plant life native to the area causing illness, finished his mission in the Dallas, Texas area. Upon his return with honor, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Weber State College.
Paul married Rhonda M. Bosley, together they had five children and later divorced. He worked for Hill Air Force Base a short time and then worked as a locomotive Engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad living in Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah retiring after 38 years of service. Paul loved horses and kept them most of his life, he also loved hunting elk, deer, antelope, bear, fishing, raising cattle, building houses, traveling and spending time with his children and teaching them his love of hunting in which they all enjoy to this day.
Paul married Shauna Bullock, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life in the Bountiful Temple being sealed for time and eternity and spent his remaining years happily doing the things they enjoyed, traveling together to his favorite hunting grounds of Jackson, Wyoming and many other places to hunt, vacation and sight-see.
Paul is survived by his wife Shauna; sons Jeremy Hill (Jenny) of Moab, Utah; Zachary Hill, Moab; and step-sons Blake Bullock Allen (Erica), Pampa, Texas; and Van Bullock Allen, Washington; daughters Sharmi Hill (Mike Cowan), Moab; Valena Higley (Clifton) Willard, Utah; Kaylee Martineau (Micah) Moab; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, siblings Linda Budge (Tom-deceased); and Doug Hill (Julie). Besides his parents and brother-in-law, he is preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Valaceta Hill, and Bert and Lida Noorda.
A very special and sincere “thank-you” to Dr. Carl Gray and staff; CNS Healthcare; Vista Care Hospice; and to all of those who prayed and cared for Paul, he was so appreciative of you all.
Funeral services through Russon Brothers Mortuary, Farmington will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Fruit Heights 3rd Ward Stake Center, 170 N. Mountain Rd., Fruit Heights, UT. 84037, with Bishop Steve Sargent officiating. Friends and family may visit the same day, Friday morning between 9:30 am – 10:30 am prior to services at the church. Interment will be at the Clearfield Cemetery, Clearfield, UT.
In honor of Paul donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Perpetual Education Fund through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints.
