Paul Lance Rainey (Dewey)

7/22/71- 7/20/15

It is with a heavy heart that we say our final farewell to Paul—a much loved son, husband, dad, brother, uncle, & friend— who passed away unexpectedly.

Paul was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 22nd, 1971 to Glenn and Fae Rainey.

As a young man, Paul had a passion for Motor Cross and spent most weekends at the racetrack with his family.  He was exceptionally talented and won over 300 trophies.

For twenty years, Paul worked in the vending industry at Rainey Enterprises, and achieved the title of Vice President. For the last twelve years, Paul worked for the auto industry and was named Salesman of the Year, multiple times.

Paul became a father on March 25th, 1996 with the birth of his daughter, Chandler.  The two of them shared the same smile.  He would say, “Chan, I gave you that smile, share it with others.” Paul reminded her to always smile.

Paul was a fun-loving guy and the joker in the family, and was known for his infamous prank phone calls. He enjoyed wading through the river fishing, and most recently, fishing off the drift boat; he was one hell of oarsmen.  Some of his favorite past-times were camping, hiking, golf, music, and fire pits with family and friends.

One of his most favorite places include upper and lower Green River areas, where he went every year since the age of ten fishing, camping, and creating memories with his loved ones.

In 2007, Paul met his sweetheart, Kim. He called her ‘Blue Eyes’. They were married on December 30th, 2011. Paul loved to cook and BBQ.  If Kim was cooking, Paul made sure to check the seasoning! In their time together they loved hiking and spending time in the mountains.  One of their favorite hiking spots was at Holbrook Canyon.

Paul was a great support to his brother’s Greg and Glenn.  The three of them were truly there for each other.  Paul also had a very special relationship with his stepson Milo, Uncle Bill, nephew Canyon, nieces Savanna and Madysen.

Paul leaves behind his loving wife Kim, Stepson Milo, daughter Chandler, Parents Glenn and Fae  (Pink), Brothers Greg, Glenn, and a wanna-be sister (sister-in-law) April (AKA) Wanda Rainey, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and his K9 baby, Ginger.

Preceded in death by Grandparents Dell and Faye B. Paskett, Russell P. and Ruby Rainey, and Snickers- his loyal dog.

Please join us in a celebration of Paul’s life on August 2, 2015 from 11 A.M. – 2 P.M. at North Canyon Park Bountiful, Utah.
