Paula Ann Potter

July 27, 1967 — March 25, 2013

Our beautiful Paula passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of March 25th, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with Interstitial Lung Disease. She was a vibrant soul, with a passion for people, and an appreciation for beauty. Paula endured immense pain but retained a grateful heart. Her passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of her friends and family. Paula was born on July 27, 1967 in Owasso, Michigan to Edward and Florence Sevenski. She grew up in Michigan and Wyoming before moving to Vernal, Utah, where she graduated from high school in 1985. While still living in Vernal, Paula married and gave birth to her three precious children. Although the marriage ended, Paula’s love for her children endured. She moved to Salt Lake City where she worked as a manager at Smith’s Bakery and, most recently, as a Customer Support Supervisor for Delta Airlines. She was a talented, loyal, and loving individual with a gift for design, cake decorating, organization, and for making people feel important and loved. Paula spent many summers in Soldotna, Alaska where she and her children devoted wonderful hours to fishing for salmon and halibut. She especially enjoyed the long, bright summer nights on the Kenai Peninsula and roasting marshmallows over a bonfire with her children. Nothing meant more to Paula than her three children, Jared, Tyler, and Jori. They were her greatest joy and most proud achievement. Paula is survived by her sons, Jared Potter (Soldotna, Alaska), Tyler Potter (Vernal, Utah), and her daughter, Jori Potter (Vernal, Utah). She also leaves behind her mother, sister, Cindy (Daniel) Lott, brother, Scott Sevenski (all of Vernal), long-time special friend, Kent Bangerter (Sandy, Utah), step-daughter, Kodi Bangerter (Draper, Utah) and 4 adored step-grandbabies (Tatiana, Alaska, Patience and Cai’ran) along with many beloved family members and friends. Paula was preceded in death by her father, her brother, Edward Sevenski, stepdaughter, Kenzi Bangerter, and grandmother, Cecilia Sevenski. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on July 14th, 2012. Throughout the course of her illness, Paula felt privileged to have several spiritual experiences that increased her faith in her Heavenly Father. She believed He loved her, was there for her, and that there would be life after death. Paula’s friends and family are especially grateful for the love and care Paula received from her many friends in the West Bountiful 2nd Ward.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 28th, 2013, at the West Bountiful 2nd Ward, 840 North 800 West, West Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may visit before the service from 11:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Interment will take place at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West in Bountiful, Utah following the service.
