Dearly loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend passed away January 14, 2017. She was 96 years of age. Born October 1, 1920, in Logan, Utah, to John Castle and Fannie Boylin Burns, Pauline was the youngest of four children. She learned early in life the importance of family, friends, and keeping busy, which she instilled in her family. She left quietly, at her son’s home, as she lived her life without fanfare. She was resistant to arrogance. We thank Hospice of Utah (Kit) for their great care and service.
She married Osborne Allen, later divorced. Their union produced two sons. She married Charles Raney, who preceded her in death in 1972.
Pauline attended schools in Salt Lake City and Davis County, Utah. She graduated from Davis High School in 1938, continued her education at LDS Business College, University of Utah and Westminster College. She had an inquisitive mind, always researching and learning and had a great desire to learn more.
She was employed at Questar, retiring after 29 years of conscientious service. She was a member of the LDS Church. Pauline was a lovely lady who took pride in her home and surroundings. She was an avid gardener who loved to see things grow and progress, especially her two sons, Scott and Ozzie. She will be remembered for her very caring nature with a great capacity to love, which was exemplified throughout her life. Her family will forever benefit from her influence.
At her request, no formal service will be held. Online guestbook available at www.russonmortuary.com
