Peggy Lynn Smith

September 6, 1952 – November 22, 2015

Peggy returned to her heavenly father following prolonged illness on November 22, 2015 at a local hospital in Bountiful, Utah.   She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up and attended school in Cheyenne, WY, where she also met and married her dear husband, Randy Smith on August 28, 1971.  In 1979 they relocated to West Valley City, Utah where they also raised three wonderful children together.  Finally they relocated to Centerville, Utah where they lived until the present time.

Peggy spent time crafting beautiful tole painting and cross stitching pieces.  Many of these she displayed in her home and gave as gifts to family and friends.  She was an avid reader and loved her books.  She loved her dogs (in particular shelties), birds and fish and her theory was the more the merrier. She made amazing Christmas candy that everyone shared in.  She was lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  A significant accomplishment in her church membership involved entering the temple and having her personal ordinances performed. This was a significant life accomplishment for her.  She will be remembered for her unconditional love, sensitivity to others, love for her children and grandchildren, happy disposition, and fearless courage in meeting her challenges of life. Peggy leaves behind her husband, Randy Smith; her children, Jennifer Smith and Matthew Smith (Charity); Grandchildren Steven, Grant and Charlotte Smith, brother Frank Byrd (Kim), and sister Donna Bixler.  She was preceded in death by her son Jason, and sister, Francis Groff.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday November 28, 2015, at the Centerville Utah Canyon Ward, 160 South 300 East. Friends and family may visit between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the same location.
