Philip Anderson

d. July 16, 2009

Our father, grandfather and great-grandfather peacefully departed this earth on July 16, 2009. He was born September 20, 1915 to Monroe and Blanche Anderson in Deming, New Mexico. He was raised in Virden, New Mexico and married his childhood sweetheart, Cleo Jones in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple on June 15, 1937. He graduated from Gila College in Thatcher, Arizona. He worked for Clover Club Foods as a salesman and manager in Mesa and Tucson, Arizona. They raised their five sons in Mesa, Arizona. They also lived in Tucson before moving to Bountiful, Utah in 1968. Ben was a member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many church callings. He and wife Cleo served in the California, San Diego Mission and many years in the Salt Lake Temple. After Cleo?s death in February of 2005, Ben enjoyed visiting the Bountiful Golden Age Center – helping as a volunteer. He touched many lives through his service and enjoyed his yard, garden and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Andrew and Arlo; sister, Elsie Petrie; granddaughter, Tiffany Anderson; and great-grandson, Jacob Anderson. He leaves behind sons, Philip, Dale, Melvin, Brent and Craig; 26 grandchildren; and 57 great-grandchildren. We thank Beehive Homes of Centerville for their care and help. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 20, 2009 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. and Monday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
