Phillip D. Collings, born July 19, 1963, passed away April 1, 2025, from a short battle with cancer.
Phil lived most of his life in Bountiful, Utah, where he went to high school, and continued his education at the University of Utah. He worked at Valley Mental Health for 20 years as an accountant and then went to work for Lowe’s Home Improvement in Woods Cross as a Specialist Salesperson.
He is the son of Kay and Wanda Collings. He has one brother, James, and a sister, Ruth Ann, who just passed away two months ago.
He served a 2-year mission to Hawaii for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Phil was always patient, respectful, helpful and kind to everyone. He was a very generous man who did what he could with both his resources and time to help anyone in need.
Phil courageously faced his health challenges with hopefulness, bravery and diligence. He never complained. He went out of his way to make sure everyone else was happy.
He is survived by his best friend of 30 years, Mark Stevens, and his two dogs. He is also survived by his brother James C. Collings and spouse, plus several nieces and nephews.
Phil will be miss by all who knew and loved him. He was a Gentle Giant of a person.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the North Canyon 7th Ward, 3350 South 100 East. Bountiful, Utah. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West in Bountiful.
